Kannur Ayurvedic Multi speciality hospital and Yoga Research Centre (KAMSH & YRC) was founded by Karuvan Vaidyar in 1850. He started his treatment in Ayurveda specializing in Agatha Thandram - Toxicology. In a short span of time his treatments gained name and fame. Later on in 1956, his son K.P. Balakrishnan Vaidyar started a branch in Wayanad at Kalpetta.
Serving the rural area of Wayanad, he started an Ayurvedic medical shop by the name "Kannur Ayurvedic Pharmacy" at Kalpetta town along with OP facilities. In 1982, IP section was started with all types of ayurvedic treatments by his son Dr. Vinod Babu B.A.M.S, M.D, C.N.C, C. N. H. 1987 onwards. Today , headed by Dr. Jeeja Vinod Babu B.A.M.S, wife of Dr. Vinod Babu , KAMSH & YRC has come up full swing and has become a well-established Ayurveda healthcare provider. Yoga and Ayurveda masseur classes are also held at KAMSH & YRC which makes you fully qualified to be an or Yoga instructor and ayurveda masseur.
